Psalms 127: 2 – “It is vain for you to rise early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so he gives his beloved sleep.”
This scripture is true even today, for those who love the Lord; it reflects the ease that God provides in our lives without us doing too much.

This doesn’t mean that we won’t need to work—God does not encourage idleness. Rather, it signifies that the Lord will make life easier for you even through the work that you do.
The ease that comes with loving God means you don’t have to work as hard. It implies that the Lord will favor the efforts you put into your work, allowing you to avoid unnecessary struggle. Very few people are able to tap into this, but for those who do, they find life less difficult.
The message of this scripture essentially conveys that it is useless to toil excessively for a living—getting up early and going to bed late without acknowledging God, who He is, what He wants for and from us, and what He can do for us—because the Lord provides for those He loves, even while they sleep. This is also consolidated in the Book of Matthew 6:31-33
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”.
God can make life easier for you in various ways. For instance, decisions might be made that benefit you or bring you wealth, even in your absence. Opportunities and favorable decisions will occur without you being present, positively impacting your career and the work you do. This highlights the difference between the labor of those who honor the Lord and the labor of those who do not. It’s important to understand this distinction.
The Lord blesses His children; He provides for those He loves while they rest. There is peace in knowing this and trusting God even as we do our works.
