A Lamp Unto Thy Feet

Don’t close off your ONE vital channel—keep it open and flowing!

Prayer is a vital way to connect with God. When we stop praying, we risk losing that connection, and without it, we can miss out on many blessings and guidance that God offers us. Think of prayer as a conversation with a friend. When we open up to God, sharing our thoughts and feelings, He responds by giving us support, direction, and everything we need.

However, if we stop praying, it’s like hitting a roadblock. Just as you can’t drive past a roadblock and access what lies ahead, a lack of prayer can keep us from experiencing the fullness of God’s gifts in our lives. We may become stuck in our current situations, unable to move forward.

I want to encourage you to pay attention to your prayer life. If you’re feeling frustrated or everything seems chaotic, take a moment to consider if your communication with God has been blocked. Sometimes, we look at all the problems around us and forget to check in on our connection with God.

Consider your relationships with other people. When communication breaks down, those relationships suffer. The same is true with God—if we stop reaching out through prayer, things may spiral downwards, making it harder to reconnect later on. You might even forget how to pray, so it’s important to keep that connection alive.

While praying doesn’t guarantee a perfect life, it certainly provides a better chance of finding peace and joy. Be mindful of when your prayer life feels under attack; that’s when you need to ask for help to pray even more. We’re encouraged to pray constantly because when we maintain that relationship with God, it protects us from negative influences and gives us clarity about challenges we face.

In summary, prioritize your connection with God and nurture your prayer life. Remember, when that connection fades, it can lead to tough times in your life. Keep the lines of communication open, and you’ll find strength and guidance when you need it most.
