A Lamp Unto Thy Feet

The Qualified Unqualified

Throughout history, many people chosen by God for important tasks often felt they weren’t good enough for the job. For example, there’s Jeremiah, who thought he was too young and didn’t know how to express himself (Jeremiah 1:6). Then there’s Moses, who saw himself as a nobody (Exodus 3:11) and believed he wasn’t a good speaker (Exodus 4:10). And Gideon felt his family was the weakest of all (Judges 6:15). These stories show a common theme: they all doubted their abilities.

However, what’s important to notice is how God responded to them. He assured them that He would be with them and that the words they needed would come from Him, not from themselves. They didn’t need to worry about “how” things would happen because that was God’s responsibility! Their role was simply to be willing to serve as His instruments, and God would manage the rest.

The key takeaway for you is that as long as you have God by your side, you can achieve great things!

If you feel a stirring in your heart to move forward, go for it! God chooses you not because you have every skill or talent but because He believes in you and has equipped you with what you need to succeed.

So even if you feel unqualified by people’s standards, remember that in God’s eyes, you are more than capable!
